Serial Interface

The PC87360 Device contains two serial ports, labeled UART1 and UART2 with IR
support. Each UART contains the equivalent of a 16550 UART with 16 byte FIFO
buffer.
UART1
UART1 is assigned to RS422 Port A. RS422 Port A is one of two multi-protocol serial
ports on the WS4. See the RS422 Port A and RS422 Port B section for more
information.
UART2
UART2 is assigned to COM3. On AB28-F/G system boards shared between the Mag
Stripe Reader and Customer Display Port. On AB28-I and ABRD36 System Boards is
also shared, but a multiplexer is used to improve the performance of each interface.
See the Customer Display/Mag Card Reader Port section for more information.
Keyboard and Mouse Controller (REF: AB28 /ABRD36 - Sheets 19 and 21)
The IO panel includes CN1, mini-DIN connectors for a PS/2 keyboard and mouse.
The Super IO Keyboard/Mouse Controller is implemented as a single hardware
module that houses two logical devices. The keyboard controller (KBC) uses an 8-bit
microcontroller compatible with 8042AH and PC87911 micro controllers.
Each interface consists of a serial clock and data line, detailed in Figure 2-9, below.
