h. Refer to Chapter Thirteen for Drive Belt
Alignment and Distance Adjustment. A
stopper (Figure 20, typical) is used to ad-
just the center-to-center distance of the
drive pulleys.
ENGINE INSTALLATION
1. Degrease the engine compartment.
2. Clean all the exposed electrical connectors
with an electrical contact cleaner.
CHAPTER FIVE
3. Inspect components which are difficult to
view when the engine is installed. Observe the
following:
a. On liquid-cooled engines, check all the
coolant hoses and the hose connections for
looseness or damage. Make sure the hose
clamps are tight. Many of the coolant hoses
are preshaped and should only be replaced
with duplicates of the originals. When re-
placing any coolant hose, make sure it is
positioned correctly.
