Enter a Username (login name). The username must start with an alphabetic character, but can consist

of alphanumeric characters.
[Optional] Enter a description of the user in the Description field.

Enter a password in the Password field. The password can be one or more characters of any type.

Confirm the password in the Confirm Password field.

Select a Password Class for the user. Password class defines such parameters as the number of log-in

attempts allowed, or how often a user must change their password. See
for details.
[Optional] You can specify the following access controls for each administrative user: Users must belong

to a group with the appropriate access ACL.
• To assign a fixed IP address when the user connects to the PPTP VPN server of the appliance, enter the
IP address in the PPTP Address field.
Note: Users with a fixed IP address still require a dynamic IP address even though they do not use it. The
PPTP VPN Server dynamic IP address range must be large enough to accommodate users with both
dynamic and fixed addresses. If IP addresses are in short supply, the unused dynamic IP addresses can be
used for other purposes.
• To assign a fixed IP address when the user connects to the L2TP VPN server of the appliance, enter the
IP address in the L2TP Address field.
Note: Users with a fixed IP address still require a dynamic IP address even though they do not use it. The
L2TP VPN Server dynamic IP address range must be large enough to accommodate users with both
dynamic and fixed addresses. If IP addresses are in short supply, the unused dynamic IP addresses can be
used for other purposes.
• To assign a fixed IP address when the user connects to the dialin server of the appliance, enter the IP
address in the Dialin Address field.
[Optional} Select one or more groups that the user will be a part of. Users gain all the permissions of the

groups they belong to.
Click Finish. The administrative user is displayed in the edit box and is enabled by default.
