Firewall menu options
Antivirus
From the Firewall menu, click Antivirus. The Antivirus Configuration page appears

Select the Enable checkbox.

The Database mirror is the host from which the signature database is updated. Unless there is a specific

host from which you want the UTM Firewall appliance to retrieve signature updates, leave this at the
default setting of database.clamav.net.
Select the frequency to check for updates from the database mirror from the Check for updates list.

The checks are quick and should not cause a noticeable decrease to performance unless an update is
necessary. Available options are:
• Hourly
• Daily
• Weekly
Specify the maximum size in kilobytes of files to scan for viruses in the Maximum file size to virus

scan (KB) field. Files over this size are automatically rejected.
• Default: 5120
• Can be a value of 1 or greater
[Optional] To treat encrypted content as a virus, select the Consider encrypted content to be a virus

checkbox. Since the UTM Firewall appliance is not the intended recipient, it does not decrypt encrypted
content passing through it, and cannot determine whether such content is infected.
Specify the Maximum number of simultaneous virus scans to perform. Permitting more scans

increases the amount of memory and CPU resources required by the antivirus scanning.
• Default: 20
• Can be a value of 1 or greater
Click Submit.

Disabling antivirus
From the Firewall menu, click Antivirus. The Anti-Virus Configuration page appears.

Clear the Enable checkbox.
