SECTION 5 - - FAULT FINDING
ENGINE
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Incorrect starting procedure.
Low or no fuel.
Air in fuel lines.
Low ambient temperature.
Contaminated fuel system.
Fuel pump inoperative.
Clogged fuel filter(s).
Malfunctioning fuel injectors.
Malfunctioning fuel solenoid or
solenoid relay.
Incorrect engine oil viscosity.
Incorrect fuel for operating
temperature.
Slow starter speed.
Clogged fuel filter(s).
Contaminated fuel system.
Fuel solenoid incorrectly adjusted.
Fuel cap vent blocked.
Fuel injection pump timing.
Low engine oil level.
Low engine oil pressure.
Low engine operating
temperature.
Engine overheats.
CORRECTION
Review starting procedure.
Check fuel level.
Bleed fuel system.
Use cold starting aid.
Clean and bleed fuel system.
Check fuse. If satisfactory, replace pump.
Replace fuel filter element(s).
See your authorised dealer.
See your authorised dealer.
Use correct viscosity oil.
Use correct type fuel for temperature
conditions.
See slow starter speed in Electrical.
Replace fuel filter element(s).
Clean and bleed fuel system.
See your authorised dealer.
Wash cap in clean fuel oil.
See your authorised dealer.
Add oil, as required.
See your authorised dealer.
Check thermostats.
See Engine overheats.
