Replacing cylindrical pin for starter double gear

Wear value:
Cylindrical pin dia. .................... 9.95 mm (0.392 in)
•
Heat surrounding zone to approx. 100° C
(212 °F) and use visegrips to remove cylindrical
pin.
•
Install end with small chamfer first and press in
until seated.

Installing crankshaft

Caution:
Check axial play if crankshaft or crankcase has been
replaced.

Measuring axial play in housing

•
Using depth gauge, measure distance from
crankcase mating face to flat of crankshaft.
