abled on the telephone line then you will need to add a prefix to the number to allow the re-
ceiver to see it or try another ISP.
4. I receive error code 001 when attempting to look up albums.
§
This error code is associated with connecting via a network and is generally only seen when
using DHCP chosen in the ethernet settings (Main Menu --> Settings --> System Settings -->
Ethernet Settings), it is not necessarily a hardware fault. Essentially the unit has either partially
received the internet protocol addresses (IP) if a DHCP is present or nothing at all. Try
reconfiguring the ethernet settings with a manual IP address, submask, gateway and DNS
servers.
§
A detailed description of testing the ethernet connection can be found in the 'Testing' section of
the service manual.
RECORDING PROBLEMS
1. When I record a CD it keeps missing tracks.
§
The software makes a perfect copy of the audio data from the CD, any scratches, dirt/grease or
errors on the CD will cause the recording of a track or album to fail.
§
Try recording other CD's known to work on another unit.
§
Missing tracks do not generally indicate a problem with the CDROM drive, however it should
be replaced with another known working CD drive as a last resort.
2. When I record an album it says it's recorded as uncompressed.
§
The software initially records an album as uncompressed regardless of the specified recording
quality and then when it is idle, i.e. on but not recording or playing it compresses the music in
the background. Leave the unit running for a few hours, preferably overnight and you will
notice that it's has compressed to the specified quality.
3. An inserted CD will not eject when I press the 'Open / Close' button.
§
Verify that the power cable from the motherboard is plugged into the CDROM drive.
§
This is commonly an issue with copy protected and some enhanced CD's as a posed to the
CDROM drive. Copy protected CD's corrupt the audio in such a way that it prevents a computer
from reading it. Enhanced CD's contain a data partition that in special circumstances confuses
the unit. In both scenarios it is possible for the unit to prevent the CD from being ejected whilst
fully started.
§
There is a manual eject pin hole below the right hand corner of the CD drawer. Inserting a
straightened out paper clip or an equivalent into the hole and pushing the hidden eject button
should eject the CD. In circumstances where this does not work, simply cold reboot the unit
and try again within the first 10-20 seconds.
§
Should the manual eject not work then remove the CDROM drive and release the CD out of the
unit.
