VIDEO PROBLEMS
1. There is no output on the TV from either the Composite or S-Video connections, but the VGA
output works.
§
The software allows you to turn off the composite and s-video outputs to focus the
hardware signal strength to the VGA output. This is a software option that can be
changed in the Video Settings Menu (Main Menu --> Settings --> System Settings -->
Video Settings).
2. The TV signal keeps reverting to NTSC when turning it on from cold even though I set it to
PAL.
§
The PAL/NTSC setting is stored in the motherboards BIOS. It is held in its volatile
memory which is kept alive by a lithium CR2032 on board battery. Should the battery
be removed or run flat then the TV signal will revert by default to NTSC.
§
Check the lithium battery voltage, it must be above 3v to retain the settings.
§
The battery circuit is connected to the BIOS via a jumper marked PL3 / CMOS
CLEAR, make sure that a jumper is fitted as indicated on the motherboard diagram,
see page DA_MOTHERBOARD_LAYOUT.
3. The picture on the TV is shown in black and white and is not particularly clear.
§
The TV outputs can be switched between PAL/NTSC modes, PAL television sets
display NTSC signals in black and white. NTSC televisions will not display PAL
signals.
LOOKUP PROBLEMS (MODEM & NETWORK)
1. Every time I attempt to connect to the internet via modem it fails.
§
Error codes for failed connection attempts are displayed on the front panel LCD only.
Note the error code at each of the attempts.
2. I have got a connection error code from the front panel display LCD, what now?
§
All modem error codes begin with '1' followed by two digits, e.g. 107. All network
error codes begin with '0', which means it is attempting to connect via the network not
the modem. If you are attempting to connect by modem then make sure that the
network mode is set to 'Modem' in the System Settings menu (Main Menu --->
Settings --> System Settings --> Network Mode).
§
Below is a complete list of the possible modem error messages, the most common
are marked with an asterisk.
