Removing a Hard Disk drive (HDD)

CAUTION:
Hard disk drives are sensitive to electrostatic discharge, ensure that you are properly earthed before
attempting to remove from the hard disk bracket. Handle the HDD carefully, holding it by the edges.
Keep it in static proof packing while removed from the unit.

Pozi-driv No.2 screwdriver

4x 6 1/4 6-32 UNC HDD Screws
MW00109-01
M4 Nickel Shakeproof Washers (HDDx4)
PROCEDURE:

1.
Remove the Hard disk bracket (See page *DA_REMOVE_HARDDISK_BRACKET*)

The bracket can hold up to two hard disk drives, the first drive (top) is the primary HDD and the
second (bottom) is the secondary HDD. The primary drive contains the XiVA operating system
and media and the secondary drive only contains media.
3.
Select the drive that you wish to remove.
4.
The HDD is mounted by 4x M4 screws (two on each side), carefully remove each of the
screws whilst preventing the drive from falling from the bracket.
5.
Gently slide the HDD out of the bracket and place in an anti-static bag. You may need to loosen
the other HDD's screws to make it easier to remove (if fitted).
6.
Repeat from step 2 if removing more than one HDD.
