Fitting the Modem

CAUTION:
The modem is sensitive to electrostatic discharge, ensure that you are properly earthed before
attempting to remove the board. Handle the modem carefully, holding it by the edges and do not flex
or stress. Keep it in static proof packing while out of the unit.
Make sure that the modem is aligned properly on the motherboard's modem pin header before
applying power to the unit, incorrect alignment could short circuit the modem and/or the mother-
board rendering it inoperable.

PROCEDURE:

The modem must be assembled to it's bracket and is attached to its underside with 3x M2.5
8mm screws before proceeding further. Position the modem over the mounting points ensuring
populated (chips & connector) side is facing the bracket and then secure with the three screws.

Plug the RJ11 to two pin cable into both the RJ11 and modem socket.

Carefully seat the modem on the motherboard modem pin headers with RJ11 facing the rear of
the unit. It is very important that you check that the modem is seated correctly on the header,
failure to do so could cause damage to the modem and/or motherboard when the unit is
powered up.
4.
Secure the bracket to the rear of the unit using 2xM3 6mm screws above the USB and VGA
connectors.
