Installing the Server

These topics describe how to install the server into an equipment cabinet equipped
with square mounting holes. If you are installing the server into a cabinet equipped
with round mounting holes, see
page 19.
Note - If your rackmount kit came with its own instructions, use the instructions in
your rackmount kit instead of the instructions in this chapter. After performing the
server installation, proceed to
page 45 for first-time power on.
If you are shipping the equipment rack to another location for final installation, or
installing the server into a vehicle, install the shipping bracket assembly. See
"Installing the Shipping Bracket Assembly (Optional)" on page
Step Description
1 Install optional components.
2 Ensure that your rack is compatible
with the server requirements.
3 Determine the correct rackmounting
hardware and install the hardware.
4 Install the server in the rack.
5 If you are installing the server into a
vehicle or into a rack that will be
shipped to another location, install
the Shipping Bracket Assembly.
6 (Optional) Install the CMA.
