Correcting a Date on a Mail Piece

This procedure is used if you have applied the wrong date to a mail
piece and need to make a correction. For example, if you already
ran your mail for the day but it was too late for that day's mail pickup,
you can apply the next business day's date on the mail pieces so
they can be processed correctly by the post office. However, you first
need to advance the date on the machine before correcting the date
on the mail piece.
You cannot change the printed date to a date earlier than

the meter's internally held date (in an effort to backdate the mail).
1. Press Options.
2. Select Advance the date.
3. The system displays current date. You may either:
A. Select Add one day to advance date one day for each
pressing of the key.
B. Key in a number (from 1-30) representing the number of days
you want to advance the date, then select Add x days (1-30).
4. Select Continue. The new date now shows in the Home screen.
5. At the Home screen:
• If you have a scale, place the mail piece on it.
• If you have any weight showing, select CLASS or Select a
class (depending on your machine settings).
• If "Enter Manual Weight" is showing, you need to enter a
manual weight first (see steps A-C below).
A. Press Weigh/Rate.
B. Key in 1 g and select Continue.

C. Select CLASS or Select a class (depending on your
machine settings).
6. Select Other Payment option, then select Date Correct.
