◄Modem Speed
A. Modem init String - A warning displays telling you that you
should only change this number if instructed to by Pitney
Bowes. Press Yes/Enter to continue or No to return to the
menu. Key in the new modem parameters (they will contain
both alpha and numeric characters) as given by your Pitney
Bowes representative.
B. Skip Dial Tone - This option (rarely used) allows the system
to start dialing to the Data Centre without waiting for a dial
tone for phone systems that don't use a dial tone.
C. Modem Speed - This option allows you to lower the connection
speed (56000, 33600, 14400, 9600 and 2400 bits per second)
of the machine's modem. This is normally used when the
phone line is noisy and/or the machine is experiencing dropped
connections to the Data Centre (redials and disconnects).
10. If you make a change, select Set New Value. A message that the
new parameter has been updated displays. Select Continue to
return to the Phone Parameters menu.
11. Press Clear (back arrow key) twice to return to Options menu.
