INSPECT CAMSHAFT
Inspect gear teeth (4), lobes (9, 10), compression
release balls (7) and camshaft bearing journals (6,
11) for wear and nicks, Fig. 4.
Camshaft journal and lobe reject sizes are shown in
specifications page in Appendix. Replace cam gear if
not to specification.
Governor spool (2) must move freely on PTO journal
(6) of camshaft. Flyweight (12) must move freely on
pivot (8). Make sure flyweight spring (5) is not
stretched. Governor weights (3) must move freely
on hinge pins (1). Make sure hinge pins are not
loose.
If parts are worn or damaged replace camshaft
assembly.

