ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
ALTERNATOR INSPECTION
NOTE
•
This test can be made without removing the stator from the
engine.
Remove the frame center cover (section 13).
Disconnect the stator wire coupler.
Check the
between the yellow
and ground.
There should be continuity between the yellow wires, and no
continuity between each yellow wire and ground.
Refer to section 10 for stator removal.

• The test results shown are for a positive ground ohmmeter

results will be obtained when a negative
ground ohmmeter is used.
