System board
The processor can only be installed in one direction. Note the
!
marking on one of the corners (A). Do not use force to press it into the
socket to avoid damaging the pins or the processor.
Ê Press the processor carefully into the socket (4).
Ê Lock the processor into place in the socket by returning the socket lever to
its original position.
Preparing the processor heat sink
Ê Remove any residual thermal paste from the underside of the heat sink.
Ê Clean the underside of the heat sink using a lint-free cloth.
Preparing the processor
Ê Apply a small amount of thermal paste to the top of the new processor.
Ê Distribute the thermal paste thinly and evenly.
Installing the processor heat sink
Never install a processor without heat sink and fan, as otherwise the

processor may overheat and fail, causing the complete system board to
fail.
Ê Reinstall the processor heat sink.
Ê Tighten the four screws of the heat sink fastening in diagonally opposite
sequence.
Ê Connect the processor fan lead to the corresponding connector on the
system board (see
Make sure that the connecting cables are kept tight to prevent them

from flapping noisily in the air current.
The processor automatically sets the clock frequency, which cannot be

changed manually. If the processors have different frequencies in the
front-side bus, the system will stop.
