Symptom
There are
toner
smudges or
residual
images.
There are
toner
smudges on
the back side
of the page
(whether or
not it has
been
duplexed).
Abnormal
areas (white,
black, or
color) appear
in a regular
pattern.
Solving Problems with Printing Quality
Cause
One or more of the
toner cartridges is
misinstalled or
defective.
The paper transport
rollers may be dirty.
The media path is
dirty with toner.
One or more of the
toner cartridges is
defective.
The OPC drum
cartridge is defective.
The laser lens cover
may be dirty.
The toner cartridge is
damaged.
The OPC drum
cartridge is damaged.
Solution
If the toner smudges are on only the
front of the page:
Remove the toner cartridge and check
for damage. If it is damaged, replace it
(Quality/Toner/Replace menu).
Clean the paper transport and
pressure rollers.
If you think the transport roller should
be replaced, contact Technical
Support with the error information. See
the Service & Support Guide for a list
of sources of service and support. The
most up-to-date information can be
found at www.minolta-qms.com.
Print several blank sheets and the
excess toner should disappear.
Remove the toner cartridge (Quality/
Toner/Replace) and check for
damage. If necessary, replace it.
Remove the OPC drum cartridge and
check for damage. If necessary,
replace the OPC drum cartridge and
waste toner bottle.
Check to see if the laser lens cover is
dirty. If necessary, clean it with a clean,
soft, dry cloth.
Remove the toner cartridge with the
color causing the abnormal image.
Replace it with a new toner cartridge.
Replace the OPC drum cartridge and
waste toner bottle.
