Cause
The laser lens cover
may be dirty.
The toner cartridge is
leaking.
The OPC drum
cartridge is damaged
The printer is not on a
level enough surface.
The media path is
dirty with toner.
One or more of the
toner cartridges are
defective.
The OPC drum
surface is scratched
or damaged.
One or more of the
toner cartridges are
malfunctioning or
expired.
One or more of the
toner cartridges are
low or out.
Solving Problems with Printing Quality
Solution
Check to see if the laser lens cover is
dirty. If necessary, clean it with a clean,
soft, dry cloth.
Remove the toner cartridge with the
color causing the abnormal image.
Replace it with a new toner cartridge
(Quality/Toner/Replace menu).
Replace the entire OPC drum cartridge
and waste toner bottle.
Level the printer (not exceeding ±1°
slant)
Print several sheets and the excess
toner should disappear.
Remove the toner cartridge (Quality/
Toner/Replace) and check for
damage. If necessary, replace it.
Remove the OPC drum cartridge and
check the green photosensitive
surface for scratches. If necessary,
replace the OPC drum cartridge and
waste toner bottle.
Remove the toner cartridges (Quality/
Toner/Replace) and verify that the
toner is distributed evenly on the
cartridge roller, and reinstall the toner
cartridges.
Check the control panel for a
REPLACE? > or X EMPTY
REPLACE? >
message. If
necessary, replace the specified toner
cartridge.
