4. Adjust:
• Valve clearance
Adjustment steps:
• Loosen the locknut 1.
• Turn the adjuster 2 in or out with the tap-
pet adjusting tool 3 until specified clear-
ance is obtained.
Turning in a → Valve clearance is
decreased.
Turning out b → Valve clearance is
increased.
Tappet adjusting tool:
YM-08035-A/90890-01311
• Hold the adjuster to prevent it from moving
and tighten the locknut.
Locknut:
7 Nm (0.7 m · kg, 5.1 ft
• Measure the valve clearance.
• If the clearance is incorrect, repeat above
steps until specified clearance is obtained.
5. Install:
• Tappet cover (intake side) 1
18 Nm (1.8 m · kg, 13 ft · lb)
• O-ring 2
New
• Camshaft sprocket cover
10 Nm (1.0 m · kg, 7.2 ft · lb)
• Tappet cover (exhaust side)
18 Nm (1.8 m · kg, 13 ft · lb)
• O-ring
New
NOTE:
Apply the lithium soap base grease on the O-ring.
