Configuring Listening Mode

For switches that have a separate out-of-band management port, you can
specify whether a configured SNMP server listens for SNMP queries over the
out-of-band management interface, the data interface, or both. By default, the
switch listens over both interfaces.
This option is not available for switches that do not have a separate out-of­
band management port. Refer to Appendix G, "Network Out-of-Band
Management (OOBM)" in this guide for more information on network out-of­
band management.
The listening mode is set with parameters to the
Syntax: snmp-server [listen <oobm | data | both>]
Enables or disables inbound SNMP access on a switch.
Use the
no
access.
The
parameter is available only on switches that have a
listen
separate out-of-band management port. Values for this
parameter are:
oobm
the out-of-band management port.
data
the data ports.
both
the out-of-band management port and on the data
ports. This is the default value.
Refer to Appendix G, "Network Out-of-Band Management" in
this guide for more information on out-of-band management.
The
listen
parameter is not available on switches that do not
have a separate out-of-band management port.
