Persistent Parameters
Printer parameters which last even if the printer is turned off and
then on again. For example, the PostScript parameter dostartpage
specifies whether the start-up page prints when the printer is turned
on. If this option is on or enabled, the page prints when the printer is
turned on. If not, the page does not print when you turn on the
printer.
Point Size
Term used to describe the size of a font. One point equals 1/72 of an
inch.
PostScript
A page description language developed by Adobe Systems. The
Accel-a-Writer 812 printer contains the Adobe Postscript language,
not an emulation.
PPD File
PostScript Printer Description file. A special file providing printer
specific information which is needed by some applications (such as
Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Separator, FreeHand, and Adobe
PageMaker) so that the applications work smoothly with the printer.
Print Density
The relative darkness or lightness of the print image on the page. The
density of the image can be fine tuned using density feature under
the Miscellaneous menu.
Printer Control Language
A complete set of printer commands, imbedded as software in the
printer's controller, which contains all the instructions needed by
your printer to describe page content and character and graphic
placement.
