Chassis Fan

See Chapter 4, "System Hardware," for details on the chassis fan.
NOTE
Arrows on the chassis fan indicate airflow direction and rotation. Ensure that you install the
new chassis fan with the airflow direction arrow pointing toward the inside of the chassis.
To replace the chassis fan:
1. Detach the air duct by removing the two screws securing it to the chassis, and then
gently remove the air duct.
2. Disconnect the fan power cable from the power supply connector.
3. Remove the four screws securing the grille and fan to the chassis.
4. Gently pull the fan until the motor housing contacts the DPRM.
5. Gently pull the fan downward until the fan housing clears the chassis and remove the
fan.
6. Note the airflow direction of the fan and the position of the fan cable.
7. Ensure the airflow direction arrow on the new fan is pointing in the correct direction,
then place the new fan at an angle inside the chassis.
8. Grasp the fan with one hand and use the other to slightly pull the left side of the DPRM
toward the right so that the fan slips into place.
9. Place the grille on the outside, align the mounting holes, and install the four screws. Do
not overtighten.
10. Connect the fan power cable to the power supply connector it was disconnected from
earlier.
11. Replace the air duct using the two screws removed previously.

Chassis Intrusion Alarm Switch

The chassis intrusion alarm switch (CWSX308) has three connectors. Only the bottom two
connectors are used. See the system board diagrams in Chapter 5, "System Board," for
connector and socket locations.
To replace the chassis intrusion alarm switch:
1. Disconnect the wires from the switch. Note the black wire connects to the middle
connector and the red wire connects to the bottom connector.
