Accessing the Components

This chapter describes how to access the internal components of the system so you can
service and upgrade an InterServe 80 SL system. It lists tools and describes methods for
avoiding electrostatic discharge, removing and attaching cover panels, and accessing
components. It also provides external and internal system illustrations.
The chassis architecture simplifies expansion and upgrades. You have easy access to PCI
and ISA card slots, memory, processors, and power supply.
WARNING Follow all warnings and cautions in the servicing instructions. If you fail to follow
documented, approved procedures, personal injury and damage to equipment can
result.
CAUTION
Use an antistatic wrist strap for all servicing procedures to avoid the possibility of
electrostatic discharge.
NOTE
"Right side" and "left side" are as seen from the front of the unit.
