Snapshot Flash (GR-DVM75 only)
The flash carl be used when a snapshot is taken in
Record-Standby
mode (:
pg. 26, 50).
• When the Power Switch is set to "Q ", the flash
automatically
fires if it is dark (_ appears).
• When the Power Switch is set to "[]
", you can select
the "FLASH" setting as follows:
AUTO
: Fir_s automatically if it is clark (_ appears).
AUTO 0
: Fires automatically if it is clark (_ appears)
and r_duces the Red-Eye effect in the
subjert's eyes.
ON
: Always fhes.
OFF
: Will not fire.
PeHom_ the procedule below.
Set the Power Switch to "_"
while pressing down
the Lock Button located on the switch. Open the
LCD monitor fully or pull out the viewfinder
ffltly.
hess the MENU Wheel in. The Menu Screen
appears.
Rotate the MENU Wheel to select "_
MANUAL",
and pless it. The MANUAL Menu appears.
Rotate the MENU Whee{ to select "FLASH", and
pless it, The Sub Menu appears.
Rotate the MENU Wheel to select "AUTO",
"AUTO _",
"ON" ol "OFF", and press it. Rotate the
MENU Whee{ to select "'URETURN". Press it twice to
close the Menu Screen.
If "AUTO 0
" Is Selected...
... the 0
Red-Eye reduction indicator lights. Press
SNAPSHOT. The flash fires twice. The fhst flash is lol
reduction of the human eye's red reflection and the
second flash is for the actual recolding.
NOTES:
• Do not fire the flash at a person at shorl range.
• The flash does not fire when lhe flash is set to "OFF" in the Menu &teen or when NightAlive
mori#
(: fag. 45) is engaged, and also when tile battely remaining power is tow. Moreover, the flash does not fire
when it is set to "AUTO" in the Menu Screen with GAIN UP set to "OFF" (:
pg. 39) and with Program AE
with _pecial efl_cls set to "TWILIGHT"
1_ ,"pg. 47).
• When taking several snapshot_ in succession (Motor Drive Mode,
fag. 50), the flash fires only during the
first one.
• Ahhough images shot with a flash lend lo took whiter than Ihey actually ar_, lo compensate for flffs the
camcorri_r automatically
darkens flte picture when usin8 the flash. When shooting a subject at a distance
where the flash light cannot reach lover approx. 2 m (6.5 fl)), set the flash Io "OFF" lo prevent the pi_lure
from becomin£ too dark or t_colning
too tinted.
• Tile color lone chan_es depending on the background lighting conditions, such as under fluorescent or
halogen lamps.

• While charging the flash, _ blinks and fl_e flash will not fire. Although noise may appear, this is not a
malfunction
and is not recorded. It can take up lo t0 second_ lo charge the flash.
