Fade/WipeEffects
These effects let you make plo-sty_e scene
transitions. Use them to spice Lip the transition
from one scene to the next. You can also vary
transitions _rOlll scene to scerle.
IMPORTANT:
Some Fade/Wipe Effects cannot be used with
certain modes of Prog_m AE with spec_l
effects (_ pg. 46, 47). tf an unusabl_ Fade/
Wipe Effect is selected, it_ indicatc_r blinks or
goes out.

NOTES:
• You can extend the I_ngth ofa Fad_ or Wipe
by pressing and holding tile Rec_Jrding SIart/
Stop Button.
• If the power is turned off after a scene is
finished recording, the steeredpoinl is
elased, disabling the Piclure Wipe/Dissolve
combination. When this happens, the
Picture Wipe/Dissolve indicator blinks. Ago
note that power shuls off automatically if5
mh_ules elapse in the Record_Slandby mode.
• The sound at the end oflhe last recorded
steele is not stored.
• Picture Wipe/Dissolve cannot be used while
Night Alive is being a_livaled 1: pg. 45).
FADE/WIPE SELECTION (_, _, _, [_,
I_, I--I, I_, I_, [] and r-_)
Fade or Wipe works when video recording is started or
when you stop recording,
Set the VIDEO/DSC Switch to "VIDE()" (GR-
DVM75 only), then set the Power Switch to "_"
while pressing down the Lock Button located on the
switch. Open the LCD monitor fuity or pull out the
viewfinder fuity.
Press the MENU Wheel in. The Menu Screen
appeals.
Rotate the MENU Wheel to select "_ WIPE/
FADER", then pless it.
Rotate the MENU Whee[ to select the desired
function, then press iL Selection is complete. Pless

°The WIPE/FADER Menu disappears and the effect
is reserved_ The indicatol representing the selected
effect appears.
Press the Recording Start/Stop Button to activate the
Fade-in/out ol Wipe-in/out.
To DeactivateTheSelectedEffect...
... select "OFF" in step 4.
PICTURE WIPE OR DISSOLVE SELECTION

The Picture Wipe ol Dissolvewolks when video
recording is stalled.
Follow steps 1 through 4 above.
Engage the Recold-Standby mode.
If you sele_t Picture Wipe/Dissolve during recording...
.... press the Recording Start/Stop Button when one
scene is finished. The point at which the scene
ended is stored in memoly_
If you select Picture Wipe/Dissolve during Record-
Standby mode...
.... press the Recording Start/Stop Button to start
recording and pless it again when one scene is
finished. The point at which the scene ended is
stored in memory.
If you select Picture Wipe/Dissolve during Record-
Standby mode after performing a Picture Wipe/
Dissolve...
.... the point at which the scene ended is already
stored in memory.
If you stalt r_cording a new scene within 5 minutes of
the end of the plevious recording (without having
turned the camcorder's power off), the previous scene
wipes out, revealing the new scene.
