Installing Additional System Memory

The server has 12 memory sockets for installing DDR SDRAM memory modules. System memory
DIMMs are located on the system board.
WARNING!
disconnected from the server before removing or replacing the system memory.
Voltages are present at various locations within the server whenever an AC power source is
connected. This voltage is present even when the main power switch is in the off position.
Failure to observe this warning can result in personal injury or damage to equipment.
CAUTION:
follow ESD safety precautions can result in damage to the server.

Supported DIMM Sizes

Supported DIMM sizes are as follows:
256 MB
512 MB
1 GB
2 GB)
4 GB (HP 9000 rp3440 only). If 4 GB DIMMs are used, only one configuration (8 X 4 GB in
the first eight sockets) is supported.
Dissimilar DIMM sizes can be used across the entire system board (except when 4 GB DIMMs
are used) but both DIMMs in a pair (first group of four, connectors 0A and 0B of HP 9000 rp3410)
and all four DIMMs of any quad must be identical.
