Stop the engine and disengagedriveto attachment
- beforerefueling;
- beforeremovingthe grass catcher;
- beforemakingheightadjustment unlessadjustment
can be made from the operator'sposition.
Reduce the throttlesettingduring enginerun-outand, if
the engine isprovidedwith a shut-offvalve, turnthe fuel
off at the conclusionof mowing.
IV. Maintenance
and Storage
Keep all nuts,bottsand screwstighttobe surethe equip-
ment is in safe workingcondition.
Never storethe equipmentwith petrolin the tank inside
a buildingwhere fumes may reach an open flame or
spark.
Allow the engine to cool before storingin any enclo-
sure.
To reducethe fire hazard,keepthe engine,silencer,bat-
tery compartment and patrol storagearea free of grass,
leaves, or excessivegrease.
Check the grass catcher frequentlyfor wear or dete-
rioration.
Replaceworn or damaged parts for safety.
If the fuel tank has to be drained, this shouldbe done
outdoors.
Onmulti-bladed machines, t akecareas rotating oneblade
cancause other bladesto rotate.
When machine is to be parked, stored or left unattended,
lower the cutting means unless a positivemechanical lock
is used.

WARNING: Always disconnect spark plug wire and
place wire where It cannot contact spark plug in
order to prevent accidental starting when setting
up, transporting, adjusting or making repalre.
