10 18 Troubleshooting
Replacing an HP CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, or Hard Disk Drive
1. With the front cover off (see the preceding procedure), remove a
drive module by placing both hands on the two handles on both
sides. Pull the module out from the front of the bay using even
pressure on both handles.
2. Return a drive using the warranty procedure described in
appendix B, "Warranty".
3. Install the replacement HP drive module by aligning the rails
with the two grooves provided in each bay of the tower. Slide the
module in by holding the two handles on both sides and pushing
firmly until it is seated properly. Just before it stops, you should
feel the module inserting into its socket.
4. Replace the front cover by first hooking the flange of the cover into
the bottom of the tower case. Close the cover by pushing it towards
the main body of the tower. Lock the cover using the key. Refer
to the installation instructions in chapter 2 to restart the server.
