CRUISE CONTROL
automatically return to its set cruising
speed.
Cruising speed cannot be main
tained
When driving down a steep gradient,
the system is unable to maintain the
cruising speed: the stored speed will
flash on the instrument panel to inform
you of this situation.
If the cruise control is no
longer available (after
several attempts to acti
vate it), contact an Ap
proved Dealer.
Temporarily not available
The system controls accel
eration and deceleration of
your vehicle using the engine and
braking system. The system acti
vates the brakes in order to main
tain the set speed, the system ap
plies limited braking. In the event
of a steep descent, for example in
a mountainous area, you must se
lect a lower gear to benefit from
engine braking.
To reduce the load imposed on
the braking system and to prevent
the brakes from overheating, the
cruise control function may be
temporarily interrupted and the
"Check Cruise Control" message
appears. The message disap
pears when the function becomes
available again.
If the message remains, contact
an approved dealer.
Putting the function on standby
The function is set to standby if you:
– switch 2 (0);
– the brake pedal;
– the clutch pedal for a prolonged peri
od or if the vehicle is in neutral for a
prolonged period on vehicles equipped
with a manual gearbox;
– shifting to neutral position, on vehi
cles equipped with an automatic gear
box.
The cruising speed is stored and dis
played in grey on the instrument panel.
Returning to the cruising speed
If a speed is stored, it can be recalled,
once you are sure that the road condi
tions are suitable (traffic, road surface,
weather conditions, etc.). Press switch
3 (RES) if the vehicle speed is above
19 mph (30 km/h).
When you see a reminder of the stored
speed, cruise control activation is con
firmed by the display in green of the
cruising speed and, depending on the
vehicle, the warning light coming on.
Note: if the speed previously stored is
much higher than the current speed,
the vehicle will accelerate more rapidly
to reach this threshold.
When the cruise control is set to stand
by, pressing switch 4 (SET/-) or 5 )
(SET/+) reactivates the cruise control
function without taking into account the
stored speed: it is the speed at which
the vehicle is moving that is taken into
account.
