LIGHTING AND SIGNALS
The system may encounter
difficulties under certain
  2
conditions, including:
– extreme weather conditions
(rain, snow, fog, etc.);
– obstruction in front of the wind­
screen or camera;
– when a following or oncoming
vehicle has weak or hidden light­
ing;
– incorrect settings for the front
headlights;
– reflecting systems;
– ...
Using a portable naviga­
tion system at night in
the windscreen area be­
low the camera may dis­
turb the operation of the "auto­
matic main beam headlights" sys­
tem (risk of reflection on the wind­
screen).

The "automatic main
beam headlights" sys­
tem should under no cir­
cumstances be used to
replace the driver's attention and
responsibility with regard to vehi­
cle lighting and adapting to light,
visibility and traffic conditions.
Switching off the lights
The lights will go out automatically
when the driver's door is opened or the
vehicle is locked, or one minute after
the engine is switched off.
In this case, the next time the engine is
started the lights will be switched back
on according to the position of the ring
3 .
Lights-on reminder audible alarm
If the lights are on after the engine is
switched off, a warning beep sounds
when the driver's door is opened to 
warn you that the lights are still on.
Operating faults
Depending on the vehicle, when the
"WARNING: Check Lighting" message
appears accompanied by the
warning light and/or the
light flashes on the instrument panel,
this indicates that there is a lighting
fault.
Consult an approved dealer.
"Welcome and Goodbye" function
(depending on the vehicle)
Once the function is activated, the day­
time running lights and the rear side
lights are activated automatically when
the vehicle is unlocked.
They switch off automatically:
– approximately 15 seconds after they
are switched on;
– when starting the engine, based on
the position of the lighting stalk;
or
– upon locking the vehicle.
Activating/deactivating the function
For activation or deactivation of the ex­
ternal welcome, refer to the multimedia
instructions.
"See-me-home lighting"
This function enables you to briefly
switch on the side lights and dipped
beam headlights (e.g. to provide light
when opening a gate).
