deceleration then the condition code 7A81 will be displayed by the PCSS. When the stopping
distance is exceeded in either high speed operation above mute 1 or below mute 1 during
deceleration, an emergency stop action of the PCSS will be triggered as described in
17.17.
When the LZS-1 is installed, the stopping distance is calculated based on the laser-to-punch
distance (I/O channel 15 in the ANO I/O board of the Kernel Software Interface) set during
configuration of the PCSS, less a further 0.5 mm. For example, if the laser-to-punch distance
was 9 mm, the PCSS would expect and require a stopping distance within 8.5 mm.
Should the stopping distance for the LZS-1 planar laser guarding system be exceeded then
the condition code 7A80 will be displayed by the PCSS and an emergency stop action of the
PCSS triggered as described in
The stopping distance measurement performed during normal operation when this guarding
system is active (whether LZS-1 or LZS-2) is then displayed on I/O channel 11 in the ANI I/O
board of the Kernel Software Interface.
17.12.2 Lazer Safe IRIS, IRIS Plus, LZS-XL Systems
The stopping performance monitored for the IRIS, IRIS Plus or LZS-XL by the PCSS is based
on distance. No stopping distance measurements are performed during crawl speed
operation.
The stopping distance is calculated based on the Manufacturer's Stopping distance or MSD
(I/O channel 15 in the ANO I/O board of the Kernel Software Interface) set during
configuration of the PCSS, plus a further 2 mm. For example, if the MSD was 9 mm, the
PCSS would expect and require a stopping distance within 11 mm.
Should the stopping distance for these block laser guarding systems be exceeded then the
condition code 7A80 will be displayed by the PCSS and an emergency stop action of the
PCSS triggered as described in
The stopping distance measurement performed during normal operation when these
guarding systems are active, is then displayed on I/O channel 11 in the ANI I/O board of the
Kernel Software Interface.
An additional stopping performance check is also performed to ensure that the maximum
overrun distance of 15mm is not exceeded. Should this maximum overrun distance of 15mm
be exceeded then the condition code 7A96 will be displayed by the PCSS and an emergency
stop action of the PCSS triggered as described in
17.12.3 Light Guard System Types 1 and 2
The stopping performance monitored when this guarding option is configured in the PCSS is
based on time. When light guard type 1 or 2 system is installed, the stopping time calculated
is the same as determined for the start-up test as described in
Should the stopping time for the light guard type 1 or 2 system be exceeded then the condition
code 7A85 will be displayed by the PCSS and an emergency stop action of the PCSS
triggered as described in
The stopping time measurement performed during normal operation when the light guard
type 1 or 2 system is active is then displayed on I/O channel 12 in the ANI I/O board of the
Kernel Software Interface.
17.12.4 Light Guard System Type 3
The stopping performance monitored when this guarding option is configured in the PCSS is
based on distance, as with the LZS-1 planar laser system. When light guard type 3 system
is installed, the stopping distance is calculated based on the laser-to-punch distance (I/O
channel 15 in the ANO I/O board of the Kernel Software Interface) set during configuration of
the PCSS, less a further 0.5 mm. For example, if the laser-to-punch distance was 9 mm, the
PCSS would expect and require a stopping distance within 8.5 mm.
Should the stopping distance for the light guard type 3 system be exceeded then the condition
code 7A80 will be displayed by the PCSS and an emergency stop action of the PCSS
triggered as described in
