Note:
The PCSS-A kernel reads the operator mode and operator station selection bits
directly from the incoming serial data stream. These bits do not need to be mapped
to variables in the ISaGRAF application but are available for use in the application
if required.
Down switch options 1 and 8 only provide a single operator station/foot pedal, and
as such mode selection is not required and 1 foot – 1 foot operation is assumed.
The operator mode may also be selected though Kernel Software Interface ANO channel 14,
however this is typically used for application development and testing. The single/dual
operator modes bits (B0-B6) and multiple station selection bits (B8-11) of ANO channel 14
are shown in

Operator modes may only be changed when the press brake is at TDC. When changing
between operator modes it is also necessary for the operator to confirm the operating mode
change. The condition code 422D will be displayed by the PCSS, and the operator must
acknowledge the change by pressing either the error reset, or the active down switch control.
Only modes appropriate for the down switch option switch configuration may be selected, i.e.
the option must support the required combination of hand/foot switches. If no valid operator
mode has been selected then the down switch defaults to the foot pedal on the first operator
station, and closing tools is restricted to crawl speed.
