Any of the stations available to the option may be selected by setting the Foot Station 1 –
Foot Station 4 bits, but no more than two stations may be selected at one time. The dual
operator mode bit Station 02 (i.e. Channel 4 in
or 10 are selected.

Down Switch Operation
15.6.1
The anti-repeat operation is used in all of the down switch options to prevent the operator
from holding the hand or foot switches, causing the pressing beam to be continually operated
without stopping. This situation should not occur during normal operation of the press brake.
If the switches used to control the press brake remain on and the pressing beam begins
moving up, the anti-repeat will be set. This prevents the control switches from being held
and the press brake being continually operated by stopping any further down movement until
the switches are released. Once the operator station switches are released and the pressing
beam has stopped at the completion of the stroke, the anti-repeat will be reset allowing down
movement control by the operator.
15.6.2
Some operator modes require more than one switch to be pressed at the same time to control
down movement of the press brake such as occurs when using any operator mode with hand
switches. Each of these hand control switches on the operator station must be operated
within the timeout period (300 milliseconds) of each other for down movement to occur,
otherwise a timeout will occur preventing down movement. If a timeout occurs, the switches
must then be released before another attempt can be made.
15.6.3
Before any down movement of the pressing beam is enabled, a series of fault checks is
performed to ensure that the operator station switch inputs and information from the CNC
controller communications is correct and valid.
Each hand and foot switch connected to the PCSS has normally opened and normally closed
contacts which should both change state at the same time when pressed. Whether one or
two operator stations are connected to the PCSS unit, all hand and foot switches are checked
to ensure that both the normally opened and normally closed inputs contacts are not both on
at the same time. Should any of the switches have both normally opened and normally closed
contact inputs to the PCSS on at the same time for longer than expected by the PCSS, a
fault condition will be indicated.
When an operator mode is selected, all the switches connected for the down switch option
chosen in the PCSS must be in the correct state to initiate down movement. If any of the
switches are in an incorrect state at the same time as the switches needed to operate the
press brake for that operator mode, down movement of the pressing beam will be prevented
or stopped.
The operator mode is sent to the PCSS from the CNC press controller using the
communications connection. Only one mode should be selected at any one time and all of
the six operator modes available are also checked to confirm that the CNC has not selected
two modes at the same time and that only one mode is selected in the PCSS. If two or more
of the operator modes have been selected for in the PCSS for a prolonged period, a fault
condition will be indicated.
When an operator mode has been selected requiring dual operator control, the station 02
variable sent from the CNC press controller is not required, as this is used for reconfiguring
of the down switch functions of the PCSS option selected during configuration in the
ISaGRAF user application. For dual operator station use without modified control functions,
this variable should not be set, or it should be in the "Off" state. If an operator mode is
selected requiring dual operator station and this variable is set in the PCSS for a prolonged
period, a fault condition will be indicated.
