Note: Testing is now complete so you may turn your Windows Defender Firewall back on if no further testing is to
be done. Remember that Windows Defender Firewall must always be disabled to communicate with the DVNext FTP
Client, unless you configure specific FTP settings.

Quick setup guide

If you have not already done so, we highly recommend you start from the beginning of this document in order to
get a good idea of how to properly set up your FTP Server and DVNext device. This section is for users who have
previously gone through the initial installation/setup for FileZilla and have successfully transferred files from their
device onto their FTP Server via Ethernet. People reading this section should be familiar with both FileZilla and their
DVNext device. This section will go over key settings and configurations to keep in mind when trying to export/archive
files from your DVNext device to a FTP Server.
Make sure everything is plugged in - The router that you are using should be powered and there should
be two Ethernet cables plugged into the router (one plugged to the DVNext device, and the other plugged
into a PC). Make sure that neither of the Ethernet cables are plugged into a WAN port. Your DV device also
needs to be plugged in to a power supply (wall socket) for it to have power.
On your PC, make sure FileZilla is properly configured – When you open FileZilla there is a pop-up prompt
telling you to enter the address and port of you the FileZilla Server want to administrate. Host should
be "localhost", Port should be "14147", and Password should be left blank. Make sure the information
provided matches the information in your prompt, if not, change the information to match (this information
will probably match as these are FileZilla defaults). Next, make sure you have created at least one User
account on the server. Make sure that user's account is enabled and that they have a shared folder which
is set as the home directory for the FTP Server. Also, make sure that the User account has all permissions
to read, write, delete, and append files/directories to the set home directory.
On your DVNext device, make sure FTP Settings correspond with correct FTP Server IP, FTP Path, and
FTP Server User account name and password. When adding an FTP folder on your DV device, FTP alias
can be any name, IP Address is the IP Address that corresponds with the Ethernet IPv4 address found by
entering "ipconfig" into the command prompt on your PC when the router is hooked up to it. FTP Path is
the name of the directory you wish to export/archive to within the FTP Server Home directory. User Name
and Password must match the username and password of the user account you made on FileZilla.
