Operating faults
Faults - Cause - Remedy
Malfunction / error
Diesel engine shuts down when not
desired.
Low Diesel engine power (lack of
power).
Diesel engine too hot (according to
coolant temperature display).

Voltage supply interrupted.
Leaks or pressure too low in fuel
low pressure circuit.
Fault in electronics.
Defect in fuel system (blocked,
leaking).
Charging pressure too low.
Charging air temperature too high.
Coolant temperature too high.
Fuel temperature too high.
Use at elevation over 1800 m above
sea level.
Injection nozzles stuck or do not
vaporize.
Diesel engine compression too low. Contact your nearest authorized
Fault in electronic system.
Coolant quantity low.
Cooler contaminated or scaled.
Thermostat failure.
Coolant temperature thermocouple
failure.

Charge air cooler contaminated,
low fan power, ambient too temper‐

Check cooler for contamination,

coolant level, contact your nearest
authorized Kohler service represen‐
tative.
