5.10.1 Inspecting air intake system overall condition — SL0-5011
Specific safety instructions

Leak at the air intake connections!
Property damage - Risk of increase of soot emission, engine stall, or degradation of engine
performances.
u The manufacturer of the machinery must integrate adapted air intake system to comply with
the technical requirements.
u Observe the tightening torques.
u Observe clamp installation specifications.
NOTICE
High air intake temperature!
Risk of degradation of engine performances.
u Make sure that you operate the engine in the specified ambient conditions.
u Make sure that the air intake system of the application fulfills engine specified intake
requirements.
NOTICE
Contaminated air!
Property damage - Risk of damage to the exhaust gas turbocharger or the intake system.
u Manufacturer of the machinery must integrate air filtering system to comply with technical
requirements.
Inspecting the engine visually
Make sure that the following preconditions are met:
