Installing a Stand-Alone Control Module

To install a stand-alone control module, complete the following procedures:
Position the control module
Lower the legs
Level the control module
Verify the level condition
Lock the legs

Required Tools

The following is a list of tools that you should have available before beginning the control module installation:
24 mm open end wrench
16 mm open end wrench
6 mm hex wrench
Digital level

Positioning the Control Module

The first step in setting up your library is system location and positioning. For more information on system
location specifications, see the Scalar i2000 Planning Guide.
To position the control module

Position the control module in its intended location.
When positioning the control module, the socket outlet shall be installed near

the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

Verify that the control module is positioned correctly and ensure that the leveling legs will not be resting
on tiles that will need to be raised after the system has been installed.

Ensure that all raised floor tiles have been cut out accordingly to accommodate the power, SCSI, fibre,
and Ethernet cables.
