Door Interlock Switches

Door interlock switches detect when the front door has been opened and automatically remove power from
the picker.

Access to Library

The Scalar i2000 is completely enclosed in a housing. The only access is provided by the front door and
back door. The interlock on the front door is active when the library is powered ON.
The housing around the Scalar i2000 serves as a separating guard. It separates the danger area of the
Scalar i2000 system from the normal working area.
Injury can occur as a result of expected or unexpected movement of mechanical parts.
MOVEMENTS OF MECHANICAL PARTS CAN CAUSE SERIOUS
WARNING
INJURY OR DEATH. ACCESS TO THIS AREA IS RESTRICTED TO
AUTHORIZED PERSONS. PERSONS WHO ARE NOT TRAINED IN THE
USE OF THE SYSTEM SHOULD ENTER THE LIBRARY ONLY UNDER
SUPERVISION.
Access to the library is permitted only:
The library has been taken offline and Robotics Enabled has been pressed to the OFF position, or
The front door has been opened, or
After switching the front power indicator switch to OFF, or
Disconnecting from the main power source
The socket outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be

easily accessible.

Mechanical Maintenance

When preparing to perform mechanical maintenance, observe the following:
Location of the escape routes and emergency exits - keep these free of obstacles
Keep dismounted machine components and other parts safe and inaccessible for unauthorized
persons
Keep the equipment clean during work; clean up carefully afterward
Interfering with the door interlock safety switches is not advisable.
CAUTION
Before and after work, remove and reinstall all safety provisions installed for maintenance, such as:

Hazard alert messages
Warning signs
Grounding wires
