Setting Network Configuration

Make certain that your library is attached to the network before you use the Network Configuration
command. You must fully understand all network issues before you change the network configuration for a
working system.
A Scalar i2000 library that is connected to an external Ethernet
CAUTION
network with an IP address of 10.10.X.X will not function correctly.
Refer to Technical Bulletin 6-00949, "i2000 Internal Network Conflict",
for information.
To configure network settings

Select Setup > Network Configuration.
The Network Configuration dialog box is displayed.

Make entries or changes in the text boxes, as appropriate:
If Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is enabled on your network, select the Enable
button. DHCP will automatically configure the library network settings. You can modify the Library
Name box.
If you do not have DHCP enabled on your network, select Disable and enter the library name in the
Library Name box.
If DHCP is disabled, enter the IP address of the library in the IP Address box.
If DHCP is disabled, enter the subnet mask and the IP address of the default gateway for your
portion of the Ethernet network in the Subnet Mask and Default Gateway boxes, respectively.
If necessary, consult with your network administrator to verify this information.

Under Port Settings, choose to enable or disable Auto Negotiation and select a Port Speed.

Select OK.
After you change the network configuration, the touch screen display is

automatically restarted. It will take a few minutes for the LMC to be restored to
the touch screen.

Setting Date and Time

To set the date and time

Select Setup > Date and Time. The Date and Time dialog box is displayed.

In the Date and Time dialog box, set the following parameters:
Use the pull-down menus to set the month, date, and year.
Use the pull-down menus to set the hour, minute, and—because the clock is not a 24 hour
clock— whether the time is am or pm.
Set the Greenwich Mean Time to the local time. The time zone function is
