Plywood Base for a Wall with Wooden Studs

When installing a switch on a wall that has wooden studs, Allied Telesis
recommends installing it on a plywood base. (A plywood base is not
required for concrete walls.) Refer to Figure 53.

The plywood base should be mounted on two studs in the wall.
Recommended minimum dimensions of a plywood base for the x330-
20GTX and x330-28GTX Switches are listed here:
Width: 55.9 centimeters (22 inches)

Height: 50 centimeters (20 inches)

Thickness: 2.5 centimeters (1 inch)

