Plywood Base for a Wall with Wooden Studs

When installing the switch on a wall that has wooden studs, Allied Telesis
recommends installing the device on a plywood base. (A plywood base is
not required for concrete walls.) Refer to Figure 53.

The plywood base should be mounted on two studs in the wall. The
recommended minimum dimensions of a plywood base for GS970EMX/20
and GS970EMX/28 Switches are listed here:
Width: 55.9 centimeters (22 inches)

Height: 50 centimeters (20 inches)

Thickness: 2.5 centimeters (1 inch)

