When performing regular inspections or troubleshooting in the event of a problem, you will be
using the engine maintenance mode feature discussed in this chapter.
To use the engine maintenance mode you will need to input a password and enter maintenance
mode.
Note
The Printer series contains several models which vary in number of roll paper drawers or
motor/sensor configuration.
The functions provided in the engine maintenance mode are common to all these different
models. Consequently, some operations may be executed on a roll paper drawer or a
motor/sensor that actually does not exist on a particular model. Unexpected behavior may occur
if an operation is executed on a part that does not exist, so be careful when using these functions.
(Note that the Printer will not break even if you designate a wrong part for an operation.)
