Measuring Pulsed Signals

Measuring Pulsed Signals
The power meter can be used to measure the power of a pulsed signal. The
measurement result is a mathematical representation of the pulse power rather than an
actual measurement (assumes constant peak power). The power meter measures the
average power of the pulsed input signal and then divides the measurement result by
the duty cycle value to obtain the pulse power reading. The allowable range of values
is 0.001 % to 100 %. The default value is 1.000%.
If duty cycle is enabled then "Dty Cyc" is displayed.
Note
An example of a pulsed signal is shown in Figure 2-10.

Pulse measurements are not recommended using Agilent E4412A and
E4413A power sensors.
