Before turning the power "ON"
To prevent sparking, do not connect the batteries. Connect the batteries after powering the
system from the main AC supply.
1. Check that all modules are installed in the proper location with the proper connections.
2. Check all field (external) wiring for opens, shorts, and ground.
3. Check that all interconnection cables are secure, and that all connectors are plugged in
properly.
4. Check all jumpers and switches for proper setting.
5. Check the AC power wiring for proper connection.
6. Check that the chassis is connected to EARTH GROUND (cold water pipe or ground
rod).
7. Make sure to close the front cover plate before powering the system from main AC
supply.
The best way to check out a panel first is to not connect any field wiring. Power up the panel
with all end of line resistors installed. The panel should be free of troubles. Then connect one
circuit to field wiring at one time. If a trouble occurs, correct the fault then continue the field
wiring.

Measure the Resistance on each Releasing Circuit
Measure the resistance on each releasing circuit to verify that the releasing devices will work.
The maximum loop resistance is 3.9 Ω.
1. Disconnect the wires from the releasing device and from the panel.
2. Short the wires at one end.
3. Connect the other ends of the wires to a voltmeter and measure the resistance of the
circuit.
The resistance of the circuit should not exceed 3.9 Ω. For wiring length and gauges see
Releasing Circuits on page 31.

Take a Photo of the Circuit Board
Mircom recommends taking a photo of the circuit board during each inspection. This will help
confirm the state of the panel at the time of inspection. Mircom recommends sending this
photo to the building owner.

time, date, daylight saving time, and time compensation.
It is critical to configure these settings on the panel before operation.
Annual Maintenance Requirement:
Verify annually that the time, date, daylight saving time, and time
compensation are correct. In addition, Mircom recommends keeping a
log of when these settings were checked.
See section 2. Set Time (Command-Menu) on page 52.
