Definitions

Accuracy: The difference between the prescribed hourly feed rate and the amount of enteral fluids actually delivered.
Continuous Feeding: Feeding mode where a patient is fed continuously at a prescribed flow rate.
Enteral Fluids: Fluids like water and available formulas that are used for enteral nutrition administration via the
human gastrointestinal tract.
Feed: A predetermined amount of enteral fluids delivered at a prescribed flow rate.
Flow Rate: The prescribed delivery rate (in mL/hr) of enteral fluids to a patient.
Hang Height: The distance from the top of the fluid in the Kangaroo OMNI™ Feeding Set bag (or container) to the top
of Kangaroo OMNI™ Enteral Feeding Pump.
IDDSI: A global initiative, the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation
Initiative works to develop a standardized way of naming and describing
texture modified foods and thickened liquids for people with dysphagia.
IDDSI Framework: Provides a common terminology to describe fluid thickness
and food texture. The framework consists of 8 levels (0-7), where fluids are
measured from Levels 0 – 4, and foods are measured from Levels 3 – 7.

pile above the fork

and fill 10 mL
Drips slowly or in dollops/strands
through the tines/prongs or a fork
A small amount may flow through and form a short tail below the fork
Does not dollop, flow or drip continuously throught the fork prongs
