If the mobile phone is used inside the vehicle
without the handsfree device, it will not be
securely attached to the vehicle, nor will be
connected to the vehicle's external phone
antenna. In addition, the mobile phone will not
be recharged by the cradle, and it is likely that
the existing call may be interrupted and the call
quality affected.
This means that a mobile phone can only be
used in the vehicle if it is connected to a
handsfree device. Volkswagen recommends
using an external antenna for mobile phone use
in the vehicle.

WARNING
An unsecured or improperly secured mobile
phone can be thrown from inside the vehicle
by a sudden steering or steering manoeuvre,
as well as in an accident, and cause serious
injury.
● Secure mobile phone, other devices and
phone accessories, e.g. mobile phone
holder, notepad and GPS (global positioning
system) correctly or safely stow them while
driving and outside the airbag expansion
areas.
WARNING
When using a mobile phone without a
connection to an external antenna, the limit
values for electromagnetic radiation in the
vehicle may be exceeded and the health of the
driver and passengers may be affected. This
also applies to an improperly mounted external
antenna.
● Maintain a minimum distance of 20
centimetres between mobile phone antennas
and a cardiac pacemaker, as mobile phones
can influence the function of cardiac
pacemakers.
● Do not carry lighted mobile phones in the
chest pocket directly over the sea.
● In case of suspected interference of the
mobile phone with a cardiac pacemaker or
other medical device, switch off the
mobile phone immediately.
