Tool components on-board tools

The range of the on-board tools depends on the
vehicle equipment. The maximum range is
described below.

Jack - Before placing the jack back in the

toolbox, the jack must be picked up. Then
attach the crank handle to the top of the
jack.
Wheel spanner.

Volkswagen recommends that the wheel
bolt adapter is always carried in the vehicle
together with the tools on board. The code
number of the wheel bolt protection is
stamped on the front of the adapter. On the
basis of this number, a replacement adapter
can be purchased in the event of loss. Make
a note of the wheel bolt protection code
number and store separately from the
vehicle.
Turn the jack back to its original position
after use, so that it can be stored in its
original position.

In the service position, the wiper arms can be
raised. To move the windscreen wipers to the
service position

proceed as follows:
Activate the service position
– The engine compartment cover must be
closed
page 266.
– Switch on the ignition and switch it off again.
– Press the windscreen wiper lever
downwards briefly.
Suspending the wiper arms
– Before suspending the windscreen wiper
arms, place them in the service position.
.
– To suspend a wiper arm, hold it only from the
area where the wiper blade is attached.
Position the wiper arms back on the windscreen
before driving! Press the windscreen wiper lever
briefly downwards when the ignition is switched
on to return to the initial position.
The wiper arms must be replaced by the wiper arms.
