Fitting the towing eye front

Fitting the front towing eye
– Remove the towing eye from the on-board
toolbox in the luggage compartment.

– Press on the lower area of the cover
to release the lock on the cover.

- Remove the forward-facing
cover hung on the vehicle.
– Screw the towing eye as tightly as possible
counterclockwise into the housing
. Use a suitable object so that the

towing eye can be screwed firmly into the
housing.
– After the towing procedure, turn the towing
eye clockwise.
– Insert the lower tab of the cover into the
opening of the bumper and pull the upper
tab carefully towards the edge of the
opening, if necessary, press the upper tab
upwards.
– Press the upper area of the cover until the
lower tab locks into the bumper.
NOTICE
The towing eye must always be screwed firmly
and completely into the mounting. Otherwise, the
towing eye can be pulled out of its housing during
towing.
Tips for driving when towing
Please note

Towing a vehicle requires some practice,
especially when using a rigid tow bar. Both
drivers must be familiar with the peculiarities of
the towing process. Therefore, drivers without
practice should not tow.
When driving, make sure that inadmissible tensile
forces and excessive jolting stresses
