WARNING
Alterations to the vehicle's suspension,
including the use of tyre/wheel combinations
not released by Volkswagen, may alter the
function of the airbag system and increase
the risk of serious or fatal injury in the event
of an accident.
● Never fit suspension components which do
not have the same characteristics as the
original spare parts fitted to the vehicle.
● Never use wheel/tyre combinations that
have not been released by Volkswagen.
Parts of the airbag system must not be
reused if the vehicle is scrapped.
The use of the product or some of its components
must be ensured. In addition to complying with
the applicable safety regulations, environmentally
sound destination regulations must also be
observed. Volkswagen
ealers are familiar with these regulations
Retrofitting of devices from
transmission
An external antenna is required for the
operation of transmitting devices in the vehicle.
The subsequent installation of electrical or
electronic equipment in the vehicle affects the
type of vehicle licence. In certain circumstances,
this extinguishes the vehicle's licence to use the
vehicle.
Volkswagen released the operation of
transmissions under the following conditions:
– Outdoor antenna properly mounted.
– Maximum transmitting power of 10 W.
The ideal range of the devices can only be
achieved with an external antenna.
If a transmission unit is to be operated with a
transmission power of more than 10 W, please
contact a specialist company that is familiar with
the technical possibilities of the modification or a
Volkswagen dealer.
Observe the legal regulations as well as the
operating instructions and guidelines in the
operating instructions for the transmission unit.

WARNING
An unsecured or improperly secured
transmission unit can be thrown out of the
interior of the vehicle by a sudden swerving or
braking manoeuvre, or in an accident, and
cause serious injury.
● Always securely fasten or store the
transmission unit correctly and outside the
expansion area of the airbag when driving.
ATTENTION
When using a non-connected transmitting
device with an external antenna, the limit
values for electromagnetic radiation in the
vehicle may be exceeded and the health of the
driver and occupants of the vehicle may be
affected. This also applies to an improperly
mounted external antenna.
● Operate the transmitting device in the
vehicle only with a properly connected
external antenna.

Information stored in the control
units
The vehicle is factory-equipped with control
units which, among other things, perform the
engine and transmission control functions. In
addition, the control units monitor the
operation of the exhaust system and the
airbags.
The electronic control units also continuously
evaluate the relevant vehicle data while driving.
In case of faults or deviations from the
reference values, these data are stored
exclusively. Faults are normally displayed by the
control lamps of the combined instrument.
The data stored in the control units can only be
read and evaluated by special devices.
The installed control units do not record
conversations in the vehicle in any way.
