Switching the engine on and off
Ignition lock

Depress the brake pedal (vehicles with

automatic transmission), or the clutch pedal
(vehicles with manual transmission) and start
the engine. When the engine starts, release
the ignition key. When released, the vehicle
key returns to position
Power on indication
Depending on the vehicle version, the ignition on
indication may not be available.
If the driver's door is opened with the ignition
switched on, the message IGNITION ON may
appear in the combined instrument display and an
audible signal may also be emitted.
The audible signal is a reminder that the ignition
must be switched off before leaving the vehicle.

WARNING
Inattentive use of the vehicle key can cause
serious injury.
● Always take all vehicle keys with you when
leaving the vehicle. It can start the engine
and electrical equipment, such as electric
windows, can be started and cause serious
injury.
● Never leave children or persons with
special needs alone in the vehicle. In an
emergency, they would not be able to
leave the vehicle by themselves or to take
care of themselves. In a closed vehicle,
depending on the season, temperatures
can be very high or very low, which can
cause serious injury and illness, especially
in young children, or even death.
● Never remove the vehicle key from the
ignition lock while the vehicle is in motion.
NOTICE
When the ignition is switched on and the
engine is switched off, the vehicle's battery can
be discharged in an undesirable way and
prevent the engine from restarting.
● Always switch off the ignition before leaving
the vehicle.
